Nuffield Health, Letchworth Garden City
On Letchworth Lane, next to the Letchworth Hall Hotel, SG6 3NP. A full health club: cardio and resistance floors, group exercise classes, personal training, and a wet facilities side with a swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam room. There's also a swim school and a physiotherapy clinic on site, with free parking.
Open weekdays 06:00–22:00 and weekends 08:00–20:00 at the time of writing. Nuffield doesn't publish a flat headline membership price the way the budget gyms do, so check current rates directly.
PureGym Letchworth
Unit 3, Baldock Road, SG6 2HN. Open 24/7, advertised from £29.99 a month at the time of writing, no contract, with over 200 pieces of equipment covering free weights, fixed resistance machines and cardio. Free on-site parking.
Anytime Fitness also runs a 24/7 gym in Letchworth (SG6 3DU), so PureGym isn't the only round-the-clock option in town.
North Herts Leisure Centre
Baldock Road, SG6 2ER. Run by Everyone Active on behalf of North Herts Council. A recently refurbished gym with Life Fitness equipment, alongside a leisure pool with a wave machine and flume, a sports hall, squash courts and a full group exercise timetable. It's the option that covers a household with different interests under one membership.
The Letchworth Club
Spirella Building, Bridge Road, SG6 4ET. An independent, family-run gym built around free weights rather than cardio: competition-spec powerlifting kit (bench, calibrated plates, platforms) and strongman equipment (yoke, farmer's handles, axle bar, atlas stones, sandbags, dinnie handles). Both contract and no-contract memberships are available, with day passes from around £8 at the time of writing.
